IDM - The Fastest Download Manager Ever

I downloaded Fedora 10 live CD yesterday.

I was using Internet Download Manager v.5.15 (IDM). It took about 2 hours to download 679MB Fedora ISO file.

Compared with other download managers, I found that this IDM is the fastest download manager I've ever used.

It ran smoothly and stable. I could always resume any paused or stopped download activities.

Rather than using torrent or other p2p file sharing, I prefered to use IDM because I've tried to use Bittorrent and Ares but sadly IDM was much faster to download this Fedora 10 at that time from its own server. Maybe because of the small size of this file and the availability of p2p users who shared this file at that time were not that many.

I'm eager to try out Fedora 10 live CD. I hope it's better than slax.

I've been using Slax KillBill edition for nearly a year. It's an excellent distro out there to choose from for end users who want their Windows applications to run on Linux.

However, not all significant Windows program (.exe) file can run smoothly on Slax.

I've tried to install OpenOffice 2.0 (Windows Version) on my machine running Slax KillBill trough Wine. It was installed with no errors but when I wanted to save my work, it (OpenOffice) could not detect my disks.

Unfortunately, I had to remove OpenOffice 2.0.exe from my machine. Too bad.

But Wine runs my flash.exe file satisfactorily. My .exe flash games doesn't run smoothly but it's still playable.

Anyway, Wine has contributed significantly in making Linux more flexible than Windows.
